We’re excited to announce the appointment of Raghav “Rags” Gupta as the new CEO of Aktiia. With a wealth of experience and a proven track record, Rags brings a dynamic leadership style that aligns perfectly with Aktiia’s mission to transform blood pressure monitoring and management globally.
About Rags Gupta
Raghav “Rags” Gupta is a seasoned tech entrepreneur and leader with multiple exits operating at the intersection of technology and market inflections ranging from the early days of the Web, to cloud, digital media and SaaS, to sensing and deeptech, leading to his recent appointment as CEO of Aktiia, the Swiss startup revolutionizing blood pressure monitoring.
Starting his career during the dotcom boom at Live365, a pioneering Internet Radio platform, Rags rose from Chief of Staff to CEO, leading the company to become the first profitable webcaster during the ensuing dotcom bust. His journey continued in Boston as part of the founding management team at Brightcove, a SaaS video pioneer, which he helped grow from pre-product, pre-revenue until its IPO in 2012.
Following Brightcove and founding roles at Skreenery and RollupMedia, Rags became Chief Commercial Officer at Videoplaza, where also served on the Board. Two years later, he led the video monetization platform to a successful acquisition by Telstra, becoming GM EMEA for its subsidiary Ooyala. He returned to Boston to join Humatics as CRO and then COO, where he played a pivotal role in achieving product-market fit and securing a Series B.
Rags went on to senior leadership roles at Butlr, a growth stage AIoT startup spun out of MIT, helping them achieve product market fit in proptech and elder care, as well as Operating Partner at Hyperplane. Author of the Amazon bestseller, One to Ten: Finding Your Way from Startup to Scaleup, Rags also regularly contributes to the entrepreneurial ecosystem as a mentor or speaker at MIT Sandbox, Harvard’s Launch LabX, and Techstars, among others.
Rags graduated with a degree in Operations Research from Princeton University and currently resides in Winchester, MA, with his wife and two children. He is a competitive squash player and enjoys cooking, travel and sports in his free time.
Looking Ahead
Rags’s appointment marks an exciting chapter for Aktiia. His strategic vision and entrepreneurial spirit are set to drive our growth and innovation in the blood pressure management field.
